Education… Key to Success?

“Education is the key to success” Thomas Jefferson

I am absolutely sure that you must have heard this at least once in your life. It does not matter whether you heard it from your teachers, parents, friends, or even classmates. It is true but is it entirely true?

My viewpoint on “Education is the key to success”

Well, isn’t it quite simple, with education it is easier to gain success. I mean attend nursery, then primary school, do the end of year 6 SATS (exam). Thirdly, get admission to a satisfactory, good or excellent (grammar school) through passing the entrance exam. Lastly, comes the big question after 5 years of studying, WILL YOU GO TO UNIVERSITY? But… wait a second we forgot about the GCSES’s. Well, I did not, you did. mmm… I don’t blame you anyway in front of that big question doing the GCSE’s is nothing unless… you don’t pass any of the exams then the answer to that big question would be NO again unless…. you re-sit those exams. However, no one wants to be in that last resort position of re-sitting the exams so for now let’s not even go there.

Hard work, determination, perseverance, inspiration, ambition, luck, fate, destiny, family support, preparation, realization and many more words would lead to an individual’s key to success. So, I ask you why is “education” given so much importance that it is quoted to be the  “key to success”. In my opinion, it would have better to quote “Education is one of many keys to success, to include some; Hard work, determination, ambition, destiny, preparation, realization and family support”.
